The Last of us - Videogame Research.


The last of us is an action adventure, survival horror video game which is developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Computer Entertainment, the game itself is a Playstation 3 exclusive and was revealed to the public on December 10th 2011, although it was released on the 14th June 2013.

The main objective of the game is to survive the zombie apocalypse and escort the young girl Ellie. The reason for this is because Ellie maybe the key to curing the disease.

The game both includes Singleplayer and Multiplayer modes so you can enjoy playing by yourself or teaming up to survive longer.

The marketing of the game at the beginning was to show a teaser to the world 2 years before release to get people excited and boost pre-orders. The game soon was taken by media channels such as the BBC and broadcasted parts of the game to the world. A month later the publisher released gameplay footage to show how the game will work and what people can get excited about. A big reveal was at E3 2012; The biggest annual gaming gathering in the world where game developers can show off their new games to the public and bring a larger audience to their products.
The marketing was though to work well as nearly every reviewer gave the game 9.5 or over out of 10; A few reviewers gave the game 10 as they though the storyline was fantastic, emotional and enjoyable.

The game sold 1.3 million copies in the first week, and 3.4 million copies worldwide in three weeks.
The target audience is 18 years and over. The director hinted that there will be a second game in the ending of the game even though when asked; the director has not confirmed anything. it was said that it's in the planning.
